Our project “Most Serene Republic” was born out of our visits to the Huntington Gardens. The morning walks started as a simple search for something calm amidst the overwhelming “everything” of daily bad and worse news. The photographs were an attempt to create immersive images of beauty and the perfection of manicured nature. Over the course of the year, the images evolved into psychological landscapes reflecting emotional states of being as much as beautiful flowers.
