The primary bedroom evolution - this space continues to be a work in progress but it’s been so lovely to watch it come to life with each change that’s made
On the very first day when we got the keys i did what any sane, old-home obsessed person would do and immediately ripped up the carpet to discover the most beautiful hardwood floors. But with a bit of researching and bit more pondering, we concluded that the linoleum and blue paint on the floors in the office might contain harmful chemicals so we made the painful decision to cover them until we had the funds & confidence to revisit the project
The layout of the room was also questionable at best, forcing you to put your bed under the beautiful window due to a closet & the door on the opposite side. So I committed to the bit, the big brain idea I had when we first toured the place, & taped the shape of what would one day be a big hole in the wall where the French doors would eventually live. I’m a big advocate of prioritizing the feng shui in a space and while I had no idea what demoing a wall & installing doors entailed, it seemed easy enough (it was in fact anything but easy though). Over half a year later the light pours in through the glass panels in the doors no matter the time of the day & illuminates the space in beautiful golden light, the icing on top of a very uniformed decision that led to a beautiful outcome
There was inevitably also a lot of indecision - painting the walls white & realizing it wasn’t warm enough, installing one ceiling fixture only to replace it with another, putting up bead board, hanging up frames & then taking them down, & now of course contemplating @loomwell wallpaper because way the hell not
This home continues to be my biggest artist canvas yet
