I’m so excited to share a panel with Gabor Maté, Johann Hari, @johann.hari @gabormatemd , Lucy Johnstone and Sami Timimi for @adisorder4everyone next week - Thurs 28th April. We’ll be discussing Johann’s incredible book, stolen focus. It’s a slap you in the face read, that will make you want to dash your phone out the window. It’s heartbreaking what big tech is doing to desecrate our collective and individual attention. Our life times are being stolen from us, in exchange for screen time. Pharma and the psychiatric industry profit further by telling us attention deficit disorders are on the rise, pathologising and individualising our understandable responses, through surviving a societal larceny of our minds. We’ll be discussing all this and more in context of Lucy’s foundational work highlighting the harms of psychiatric diagnosis. Come on!!! I’m gassed for this one. I’ve been locking my phone in a Ksafe, using alarm clocks and watches + reading BOOKS (real life pages) to return to my flow state, help nurture my IQ and recover my attention. We can only do so much to build a defence, this is a systemic issue that requires an urgent systemic intervention. #stolenfocus
