No words could ever express how heavy this decision is to make. After watching her quality of life decline, we have made the decision to plan her at-home euthanasia for this Friday. Thank you for loving her over the years and for all of the immense help we received with her emergency eye surgery. We are so happy that we’ve been able to give her the best life possible, but realize that she’s no longer comfortable. It’s selfish to keep her here when we know deep down that it’s not what’s best for her. We are going to soak up as much time as possible with her while we can, and give her all of the love and snacks and cuddles until we can’t. Rummy will always hold a special place in our hearts as she’s been our baby for 13 years. Feisty, independent, wild and outspoken through every chapter of our lives. She is at the core of everything we do and we will always hold space for her, even when she’s gone.
