This one might get me in trouble, but because it’s Pride Month, I want to talk about it. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not “misgendering” anyone or making the argument about how anyone could or should identify. I’m speaking solely from an athletic, physiological, and safety point of view. As a former highly performing High School Athlete/Basketball player, I can say that safety would be at risk playing against transgirls (who are still biological adolescent boys). And by highly performing I mean I was very strong, agile, and would beast with the best of them. Even still, I would have to say that most biological boys, who were also athletes, had a physical advantage over even me. Not because I wasn’t one of the BEST players in the state, but it was mere biology and physiology. Of course there were some boys I could throw against a wall and run over...but most of those boys WERE NOT athletes. Also, most of the queer people in this conversation were NEVER athletes. And they’re speaking from conjecture, not experience. So if we can’t even wear earrings in a game for safety purposes, I think this should be a concern too. Or let me put it like this. If you wouldn’t want your daughter to be accidentally elbowed in the eye by a boy, safety should also be a concern. This is just my opinion, Let me know what you think? #transathletes #gaypride #pridemonth #wbb #girlathletes
