Last year, I could barely walk a mile, let alone hike for fun. I remember wanting to be in the woods so badly to see the yellows and oranges and feel free, so Fred and I went to this trail and I prepared myself to walk as long as I could. I was in pain each step, had to walk excruciating slowly, and then there was a point where I knew I had to stop. Couldn’t finish the loop. We turned around and came back. It was such a mental game of fighting my anxiety and limits back then. Of motivating myself and knowing when I was making things worse with my stubbornness and anger. Today, we went back, and we walked the whole loop :) Minimal pain, maximum gratitude. It’s been a journey trying to do what’s best for my body and my health, but seeing the small victories now, even though it’s taken over a year of work, is a big deal to me. Yay!!!!!!!!!! To getting even healthier, and dreaming of longer trails to be free on. Shoutout to @fred_gonz who’s had to deal with this journey alongside me. Hasn’t been easy ❤️ Love, Caroline #dreamerdreamwithme #fredncaro
