ali’s cinnamon rolls • it’s been a week since a best friend of mine passed away from a 11-month battle with a rare breast cancer. she was requesting homemade cinnamon rolls for awhile, so today’s 1st day back is dedicated to her. wishing I could share this with her and especially on her 33rd birthday next month. also wishing i shared more of my sweet friend Ali here for you to love her as much as I do. she’s one of the biggest reasons why the orange home is where it is today: my caption proofreader, brand police, my second brain, my bandwidth protector, and most of all my biggest cheerleader. while she was in treatment (and working full-time, being a new mom, and wife), she celebrated every single win I had - even if she was in so much pain and losing hope. “I’m so proud of you” were words I heard often and is what will keep me going. In her honor, i will commit to making more cinnamon rolls (the real deal too, not the GF kind for you). Work hard but enjoy harder. I will show up everyday for my community the way she did for hers.
