Sneak peek into last night’s wedding reception magic at Four Seasons Baltimore! Why do I love reception time so much, especially once guests start dancing? Let me count the ways: 1. Guests can finally relax and let loose. The more traditional wedding elements are over (ceremony, toasts, featured dances), and I find that when people are nervous about those events, they can’t fully relax until the dancing starts. 2. Hearing songs that make you wanna dance just pumps up the energy in the room. @dj.jason.wallace @districtremix had the dance floor packed all night and knew just what would keep the flow going. Whenever I see guests starting to bop in their chairs as they’re eating dinner, you know the dance floor is going to be packed. 3. I love seeing the aftermath of our table designs and knowing they’ve been lived in and enjoyed. Melted down candles, half-drunk glasses of wine, purses at place settings - all signs that guests have enjoyed themselves during dinner. I also love the mix of having some people dancing, some at tables continuing conversation. It’s interactive and fluid and every inch of the space is being used. Fun fact/secret: this time is actually when some of my favorite room photos of the night are taken (and they’re not just on the dance floor). Once dancing starts, a wedding reception really glows and comes to life. And we design the room that way.
