7/4/19. Broken down in America’s self-proclaimed “Patriotic Home”- Hawthorne, Nevada. Named so for being the site of the largest ammunition storage facility in the world- a correlation that is difficult to ignore. The town was eerily empty while I was there, as everyone seemed to be at nearby Walker Lake. I would have joined them but my van barely limped into town to begin with and everything was closed except the casino.
