We're excited to announce that South African photographer Lindokuhle Sobekwa has been awarded the John Kobal Foundation Fellowship, presented every two years in recognition of outstanding photography. 🏆 The images above are from Sobekwa's series 'Ezilalini (The Country)' which follows the photographer’s journey from South Africa’s Eastern Cape to Johannesburg in search of opportunities. By travelling back and forth, Sobekwa documents the opposition between ‘home’ (Eastern Cape) and ‘away’ (Johannesburg) to understand how these places are seen by both older and younger generations, while also trying to reconnect with his family, identity and culture.
