REPOST: @curlysusieq7, Bend, OR SheJumps Brand Ambassador "Please take up space," said the guides from our @shemovesmountains two-day climbing course @smithrockstatepark. The course was designed to teach women-identifying climbers how to transition from the gym to the crag, but it was so much more. These climbers learned not only how to climb on real rock, but also how to set up safe anchors and mock lead. They supported one another, learned how to stop apologizing for taking up space on the wall and challenged their fears. Thank you to our guides and our crushers that participated! We had a scholarship recipient, @eforelyssa who generously shared her climbing story. Elyssa quickly became obsessed with climbing (her words) and started working at a local climbing gym. A friend took her climbing outside for the first time and this course allowed her to expand her skill set outside of the gym.
