As a young girl, one of the first fashion books I ever found was A History of Punk in my family hair salon. Sat in the basement as my mum chopped and changed the hair of Yorkshire women, every evening after school I would read about this fearless northern woman with fiery red hair who went to London and changed the fashion game. Staring into the pages, describing a shop called SEX, I was in awe. Vivienne Westwood made an opportunity for both herself and others, and trailed the path to becoming a true somebody as a woman, a northerner and an esoteric thinker. RIP. My idol ❤️
