Introducing our newest Korean cafe, Blue Bottle Myeongdong. Myeongdong recieved it’s name, meaning Bright Village, because it was once a place where scholars gathered and modernity took shape. Through the years this growth mindset has led to much development in the area. Our design for this cafe uses the “philosophy of reduction” to simplify the space and remove the noise of its compact surroundings, harkening back to the place of contemplation it once was. We infused Jakyung, a unique aesthetics found in Korean Traditional Architecture, to create beauty through unifying the internal and external in our unique entry way. The facade of our cafe is designed to look like a traditional small house among the many climbing stores surrounding it. If you are in the area, stop by for a surprising moment of peace within the non-stop movement of the bustling neighborhood.
