Tonight, Australians will be treated to a total lunar eclipse and blood 💉 moon 🌕. A blood moon occurs when the sun 🌞, earth 🌏 and the moon 🌕 align in such a way the moon passes into earth’s shadow. This rare effect is due to light being filtered through the Earth's atmosphere. The dazzling 🤩 lunar eclipse is set to begin at 6.42pm in the Northern Territory, and ends at 10.19pm. The total eclipse, which is when the moon will be fully red, will last from 7.46pm - 9.11pm. Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park closes ⛔ at 8:30pm and all visitors must exit the park by this time.
