Some days of Solitude I spend riding various train lines around the city people watching for movement inspiration until intuition or hunger tell me to exit. On one particularly cold day in 2014, I left the southbound 1 train at Wall Street & rode the escalator up to what I thought would be street level, but it deposited me into 60 Wall Street Atrium.... I was transported into a cinematic dreamscape & felt deeply connected to the space. When Hanan & I started talking about collaborating on Lengths of Fire, the stirring of synchronistic, divine timing was in motion & I suggested the atrium as our location. I was overjoyed she was down to take on the challenge / balancing act of putting on a fashion show in a public space with me. With the city readying to demolish the space, it felt like the perfect location to present a collection she made to imbue the wearer with strength // fearlessness during this moment of collective uncertainty. The atrium held us & pushed us & I am deeply grateful.
