I want to tread gently here because I truly have the BEST clients in the world. 99% of you are the most kind and wonderful clients I could ever ask for. So please know that this post isn’t meant for you. May you have all the rainbows and pay-it-forward’s in your Starbucks lines today 😘
I’m not sure if there’s something in the air or the water or the Chick-fil-A nuggets but there has been a lot of negativity when it comes to client/service provider relationships lately. Basically a client has a negative experience with the service itself or the booking method, and they lose their ever-loving mind. Whether it’s a tiktok peep trying to cancel a stylist by just “sharing their experience” or a threatening/rude message from a potential client....the negativity has really bothered me.
STYLISTS: Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Do not “ghost” people especially if they’ve messaged regarding a service you’ve performed. Be kind. Be professional. And stick to your boundaries and policies. You are not for everyone and it’s okay.
CLIENTS: You have the right as a consumer to expect to be treated with respect and kindness when booking and/or receiving a service. You do NOT, however, have the right to bully or be ugly to a service provider when you do not get your way. If you don’t like the way someone schedule’s their appointments, FIND ANOTHER STYLIST. If you’re unhappy with your results, COMMUNICATE it to them clearly and give them the opportunity to make things right. If you get mad at their no-show policies, KNOW THE POLICIES BEFORE YOU BOOK!
I do not tolerate bullying in ANY arena. Stylists to clients, clients to stylists, kids at school, whatever. There’s no space for it. I especially do not allow myself to be treated in any disrespectful manner and will fire you before you ever sit in my chair. I will work at mickey d’s and flip McDoubles with a fiery passion before I allow people to disrespect me or tell me how to run my business. And I say this with love.
Hoping we can all learn how to be adults a little better and to not morph into mean little wieners when we don’t get our way 🥹 Be kind and if you don’t have anything nice to say move on💕
