I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since the release of I&W! I remember writing those songs and recording the album with the guys up at Bear Tracks Studios as if it were yesterday. All of the events leading up to its creation and release are still just so vivid...the year and a half search for a vocalist that fatefully lead us to @jameslabrie.dt, getting signed to ATCO records by Derek Oliver for an 8 album deal and of course the unexpected success of Pull Me Under as a rock radio hit that earned us our first gold record. We didn’t realize it at the time but our lives would be forever changed with its release and it forged opportunities in our career as young musicians that we could only dream of. It literally put @dreamtheaterofficial on the map and set the trajectory for a multiple decade career that we all continue to be proud of, cherish and enjoy to this day.
