Golf has been described as the loneliest sport in the world but as Saudi’s only professional golfer, Othman is on a quest to make it the country’s biggest. Years ago, the journey began when Othman convinced his parents that he would one day become the greatest golfer the Arab world had ever seen. “I used to imagine what people would say to them. ‘You guys are crazy letting him ruin his life. What are you doing? He’s going to be on welfare taking your money when you’re retired because he doesn’t have an education,’” says Othman. “I always knew they supported me.
