When I first came to Berlin on my own, it was in July 2016. @thisisfranimfran took me to CSD and I didn’t really know what that meant for me, I just remember a crowd of people (a lot less than this year’s turn up) and lots of rainbow flags. Fast forward 6 years later, I find myself in the middle of this blessed day, performing my OWN songs on the truck of @spotifyde knowing who I am and what pride means to me. This day was so magical, I found myself many moments just staring out in the crowd and taking in all the beauty of this amazing community I am grateful to be part of! This year I feel prouder than ever to be queer. This community has taught me more about myself and humanity than I found anywhere else. It is so necessary to keep showing up and uniting. We must remember most of our community around the world still needs fighting for. We can party here but until we can all be careless and free, there’s still work to be done.
