The hand of the talented artist, Sofia Bartolomeo (@sofiabartolomeo), reads “realizar,” which is a Portuguese word that translates to “make it happen.” This photograph was taken during an unforgettable night of creating art with Sofia and Tucker (@tsdeslauriers). Tucker and I met Sofia at a party in NYC and we loved her energy from the very beginning. After seeing her art, I was immediately inspired and thought it would be so cool to see Tucker and Sofia collaborate on an art project. If she agreed, my hope was to take behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the entire experience. The party we initially met Sofia at was on a Sunday and I was scheduled to catch a flight to Miami early Tuesday morning, so I asked Sofia if she was open to stopping by Tucker’s place Monday night and proposed the idea of a collaboration. Much to my surprise, she agreed to do it! We had so much fun creating the following night that I didn’t even sleep. I left Tucker’s place at about 4:30 AM Tuesday morning, stopped by my apartment to grab my bags, and headed straight to the airport. Sleep was a small price to pay for a night I’ll never forget [Summer 2021].
