Starting this weekend, beer lovers can enjoy IPAs and lagers at D.C.’s newest brewery, opening Saturday in Eckington.
Lost Generation Brewing Company, the latest brewery to announce its debut in the District, joins nearby Red Bear Brewing Co. in NoMa and City-State Brewing in Edgewood. The taproom will have a 25-30 seat bar and 16 taps, where customers can order an array of beers named after famous Lost Generation artists and writers. The back half of the space is the brewery, which you can see in its entirety from the taproom through glass walls.
Lost Generation’s opening comes on the heels of a spike in development in the area. Towering over construction by the nearest Metro stop in NoMa is a new luxury apartment building, the Burton. Pulliam, a D.C. native, says there were 10,000 units slated to open just within a half mile radius when they were signing the lease for their brewery.
Owners Anne Choe and Jared Pulliam spoke with DCist earlier this year about their plans for the new Eckington spot:
“We want to be a part of the neighborhood,” Choe said. “D.C. has always been home to us.”
