In more sad news this week the great British film director Mike Hodges has left us. But what a wild, fascinating, gritty (and sometimes gloriously campy) body of work he leaves behind. The man who gave us the royally entertaining FLASH GORDON, as well as PULP, THE TERMINAL MAN, BLACK RAINBOW, CROUPIER and I’LL SLEEP WHEN I’M DEAD. And hey, a 11 year old me thought MORONS FROM OUTER SPACE was fantastic on the big screen. However it doesn’t get much cooler than his debut, GET CARTER. And even cooler still, are those opening titles. What a film. What a life. Farewell Mike.
