For @chanelofficial’s latest Métiers d’Art collection, Virginie Viard drew inspiration from glamorous ’70s-era power dressing and disco. Flared trousers, lurex tweeds, and embellished denim were topped with layers of bohemian jewelry while lace and sequin dresses made their way through the Palais de Justice. The presentation, which was staged in Dakar, Senegal marked the first time a European or US-based luxury fashion house has ever held a show in Sub-Saharan Africa and was attended by famous friends of the house including Pharrell Williams and Naomi Campbell.
