“Why do you walk like that”, “ what happened to your leg” kids would constantly antagonize me- Day after day. i remember hiding out in the hallways and being late to class to avoid the stares and the teasing of my peers throughout grade school. I struggled not merely because of their words but, because deep down, I knew I was trying my best. It would be some time till I would come to understand that my best was more than enough. At 16, I begged my mom for $150 , snuck out of the house and went to a mall scouting contest. I didn’t make the finals but, I felt alive and I tried my best. July is Disability Pride Month and I am proud of this journey - not just for the accomplishments but, for trying my best at even the most challenging tasks. Remember, Your best is more than enough. No comparisons needed. No one is you and that is Your super power. I hope you soar and tackle those childhood dreams with a vengeance. And be the best you can be 💕 because Dreams do come true.
