Retique It sent me their Wood’N Primer and Matte Tripletique sealer and i used both to refinish my nightstands. The primer is made out of over 60% wood fibers so once its dry it feels like raw wood. When applying it youll want to make sure your final strokes are long and straight because that will be your wood grain. It says to wait 2 hours between coats and i highly recommend that, if you dont wait youll potentially wipe away the layer that was just applied (speaking from experience.) water based stain or gel stain is recommended. If you want to use a penetrating stain you need to apply at least 6-8 coats of the primer. I tried both water based and gel stain and i think its all personal preference. I wouldve kept going work the water based but i was running low and it wouldve took a lot more coats to get my desired color. Switching to gel stain was simple, i applied it with an old tshirt and let it sit with a minute or two before wiping away in smooth strokes. I let the gel stain set for over 24 hours before applying the top coat. I bought new hardware on amazon and let the dresser set for a day before applying those. I cant wait for nicer weather so i can use the Wood’N Primer on some failed DIYs from last summer! #diy #furnitureflip
