EXHIBITION: INFINITY TO THE POWER OF WOMEN
Dulce Evonne September was a South African anti-apartheid political activist. She was born in 1935 in Athlone, a suburb of Cape Town. Her political life was shaped by various anti-Apartheid movements including the Unity Movement, APDUSA (The African Peoples Democratic Union of South Africa and the National Liberation Front (NLF). It is during her time
with the NLF that she was arrested for her covert activities and served a five-year prison term for sabotage and inciting political violence. September was banned from teaching after her release, so she left the country to study
in London in 1974.
