It’s my 49th birthday! I must be 6 or 7 in this photo. I always loved it when my dad would decorate cakes. I loved watching him create the roses, twirling the tiny metal base topped with waxed paper as he piped each petal and then laid them to chill in the freezer on a dinner plate.
