🥺 Proud doesn’t even begin to explain 🥺 On the 30th + last day of Pride according to corporations but the 180th day of pride for the rest of us I’ll say this in summary. I’m proud to be here, proud of who I’ve become & proud of who I’m becoming. I’m proud of the work my community and myself have done to shed the hate imposed upon and engrained in ourselves. I’m proud at the boundless forms of unconditional love we are able give and receive. I’m proud of, and inspired by, my person right here for a myriad of things but namely for living life fervently & loving loudly. I’m proud of us for finding our places to belong. I’m proud to be queer as fuck. I’m proud to be non-binary. I’m proud, honoured and forever indebted to be a part of a long line of people who stand firmly in who we are and fight for it everyday. To be queer, to be trans is to be held in ways you never thought imaginable by friends who become family. To be cared for and understood in ways that you’d ask for in your wildest dreams but never think you’d actually experience by partners. To be at home in your body and to see yourself in a reflective surface and maybe smile back. It’s euphoria. It’s our utopia we create. 25/8.
