Celebrated since 1873 for 3 days from the 1st of January, お正月 “Oshogatsu” is the most important time of year for the Japanese people. There is a “bell ringing” at midnight that echoes throughout the island nation bringing in the New Year which signifies a blank slate. “Shogatsu” is spent in deep reflection of the past, successes from the past year are celebrated, and new goals are shared with family and close friends wishing the best of wishes to all for the year to come. . . Getting back from holiday travel, and in reflection of my work life from the past year. . . From @mizutaniscissors_official hosting the World Men’s Grooming 2019 in Tokyo, to @mizutaniamerica throwing Northern California’s first ever barber and hair stylist crossover hair show at the PRDX SUMMIT, 2019 was action packed! . . . I’ve been working with Kiyoshi for 2 years now, and am extremely grateful to be able to grow with this brand. Working with Mizutani has exposed me to a world of excitement, a better understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses, and has allowed me to connect with many inspirational people. We may not necessarily become new people just because of a change in calendar, but it’s always good to reassess.
