SDW100 @centurionrunning 19:52 6th/103 female 45th/532 overall I got my sub-20hrs and a 30km, Marathon, 50km, 100km and 100 mile PB 🎉 What a fantastic day on the Downs! It was great to share the course with my brother Peter and friends Simon, Louise, Paul and Neill. I loved having a crew and pacers, it really gave me an extra buzz and I was so well looked after. Our World Majors Team Maureleven won! Well done @peter.newman @arunnerssi @hughsthatrunner @bijoux_jogettes Overall the race went well, I ran strong and stuck to my pacing plan exactly. I was a little slack with my nutrition plan. @maurten_official worked great, ZERO sloshing, but eventually I need something solid and salty. Learnings I can bring to the next 100 miler for sure. The minestrone soup at the finish was heaven, so maybe that will make it into the crew box next time! Still not sure what the issue was and how/if I could have resolved it but a sharp pain in my side followed me for six hours, to the point it stopped me from running which was extremely frustrating. Everyone who met me probably knew me as the lady with the stitch but the pain is still here two days later so maybe it’s something else. Answers on a postcard. My crew and pacers were the absolute BEST! Every single person I met on course was kind, considerate and just lovely! Thanks to the lady at Botolphs who gave ice lollies to all the runners and my neighbour who kept randomly popping up as she was cycling the entire SDW. I met the original ultra running @helennewman100 who was volunteering at Washington and my family surprised me at Upwaltham. Loved hearing @sarahp_runs cowbell on route too, indicating I was near a crew point 🙌 I’m feeling good, stomach’s still not quite right but muscles/legs are grand.
