The power making—creating something from nothing—is a story that is anchored in the relationship artists and designers have with materials and their own direct experiences. Transforming abstract ideas into physical objects, artists and designers often let their work speak for itself. Self-Made presents a rare glimpse into the thoughts, stories, experiences, observations and feelings of six emerging artists: Brent Warr, Brecht Wright Gander, James Shaw, Pierre Castignola, Tim Teven, and REM Atelier.
