He picks up the dog 💩 that other people leave behind (a real life poop fairy!). ⁣ ⁣ One time, when he didn’t know I was in the room, I overheard him say to Farmer: “Farmer, I love you so much. And I hope you love yourself too.” ⁣ ⁣ He takes out the trash and the compost and does the laundry and refills the dog food —all without being asked (and yes, I should take a hint 😂🙃).⁣ ⁣ The athletes he coaches jokingly call him the team dad (but I know they mean it 🙏🏼🥰).⁣ ⁣ The kindness in his eyes was the first thing I noticed during a 30-second encounter at a pub (watching US Indoor Champs—Go Gabe!) 7 years ago. And I’ve come to learn that those beautiful eyes are merely a glimpse of the bottomless kindness flowing from his heart. ⁣ ⁣ Even in the most trying moments when frustration is high and patience is thin, his love and kindness shine through. ⁣ ⁣ He’s the kind of person I hope baby gabe can grow up to be. ⁣ ⁣ Today, he ran around a caldera (20 miles!) with friend and fellow dad, @mendozarunner.
