Riding solo. In his new exhibition Brake Run Helix, @iheartbeuys inverts the experience of riding a roller coaster, transforming it from a shared ritual of joy and terror to an individual performance: only one person may ride the roller coaster, Brava!, at a time. The solo nature of the rideable installation complicates traditional spectatorship in amusement parks, asking viewers to consider the complexities of watching others undergo intense (and often vulnerable) experiences.
