This moment transpired one week ago & I’m still in awe. This is a true testament of manifestation & divine orchestration. I stopped selling my line a few years ago to rebrand & restructure, but after moving to the US & the sudden catalyst of COVID, it left me with doubt & uncertainty on moving forward. In April, my Mom decided one day to wear one of my old designs to a hotel in Liberia. Telfar, who happened to be visiting the same hotel, stopped her in the lobby to ask who she was wearing. She told him about my designs, & he told her he loved them & had never seen anything like it 😩 I took a chance & made some shirts to surprise him as a gift. He loved them so much he ordered more, insisting to pay full price 😭 Fast forward to now, I flew to NY to personally deliver them. To be here with him, watching him rave over my designs,to be a student & listen to his process was invaluable. I’ve admired & followed his work for so long. The first designs he ever sold were t- shirts, so I resonated with his journey as a designer. He gave me so much hope & inspiration to push forward with my dreams. Thank you to my Mom @juneellenaccessories and @el_rey6 for being a major part of making this happen. I have such supportive friends & family that believed in me even when I didn’t sometimes.
