“Bring more joy to my work and personal life. Write down 3 joyful moments everyday.” We launched a @flowdotclub feature to let people set an August monthly intention & make that public in our co-working sessions. It’s been so inspiring to see hundreds of members share their intentions, so I’ve been making sure to stay on top of mine. Was happy with how my legs felt at @scenaperformance #skyline50k last weekend & thrilled with the result: finally breaking 4 hours on my 4th try at this course (on the newer, longer course too!) & sneaking onto the podium, but it’s these little joyful moments that I want to remember: 1) Hanging out & talking to so many members of the running community including @kristina.randrup & her mom (or Ramona & her daughter depending on who you ask) 2) Screaming my lungs out (a little kid had to plug their ears, sorry!) cheering on @umhanduhh’s sprint finish, out-kicking the woman behind her by 3s after 31 miles! 3) Seeing race photographer phenom @bryanwalkerting just before the last climb to the last aid station 4) Seeing so many friends out cheering on the course including @davidtlam, Crispin, @vivekgowri, giving @runspired a high-five in bandit country 5) Getting to run-cheer in @tantek’s tough final mile w/ Amanda & Vivek! 6) Hearing @poleary87’s voice coming up behind me on the first climb, fresh, or not-so-fresh, off his 50k the day before, & getting to share lots of miles with him, @uponward, & Raheem, including the one pictured here where I had to do a stride to catch back up after spilling Skratch on myself at the aid station 7) Sharing a drop bag w/ Amanda who left me this note in it 8) Meeting Peach the puppy! All the dogs: Penny, Sierra, Gertie 9) Sharing the podium with Excelsior teammate Chikara and SWAP teammate @andrewcatanese 10) Getting to chat with Noriko after the race, which she declared as her ultra retirement race! Hopefully see you at some shorter races! 11) Don’t have a photo of it, but had a lovely reunion at the last aid station where Stan Jensen & his crew spent 20 min with me last year.
