I travelled to Bangladesh in my role as @Refugees Goodwill Ambassador in 2017 and met Hamida two days after she gave birth to her son on the side of a road by the Bangladesh border. Five years on from then Hamida’s son and the children of many other Rohingya refugees should be looking forward to the education and future they have been dreaming of. But Bangladesh is one of UNHCR’s most underfunded operations in the world. Without more support, that will mean limited shelter, a lack of education, and continued marginalization.
