I have breast cancer. I’ve always been an open book, and this new chapter is no exception. Today marks the first step of my treatment. The road to this point has been filled with emotions, but I’m stepping into it with a positive mindset and the confidence that I’ll continue navigating this in a way that future-me will look back on with pride. I also want to give the biggest thank you to those who have helped me through this journey so far - especially @alissa.ogen . I always knew that you’re my biggest cheerleader, but you really are the best big sister ever. Also a special thank you to @giselled422 and @marissasantana for coming to nearly every one of my appointments, @amberm_arnall for visiting me to try on potential wigs and for compiling letters from my loved ones for me to read throughout treatment, my parents for helping me pull off the best surprise at Danielle’s bridal shower that I didn’t think I’d get to attend, my sorority besties who drove from all over to see me before treatment begins, my KCC team for being so kind and accommodating with my schedule, and of course everyone who has shared love, support, thoughtful gifts, resources, knowledge, and prayers with me.
