⚜️ Abandoned mountain hotel in Georgia / Заброшенный горный отель в Грузии ⠀ This soviet-era hotel with more than 100 rooms was built in the 1970s in the mountains of the Georgian SSR. In the center of the building there's an extraordinary staircase that takes your breath away. At the bottom of the staircase was once a fountain, and at the top is a dome whose design has references to the gvirgvini: the wooden stepped hipped ceiling of a Georgian folk dwelling. Luxurious configuration of the stairs does not fit the concept of refraining from excesses in architecture - a huge space is used without any use, only "for beauty". ⠀ But now there is nobody to admire that beauty. Abandoned are the living rooms with all the furniture, abandoned is the cinema with a grand piano on the stage, abandoned is a huge restaurant for guests... And all around are endless mountains. I think this location would fit perfectly into one of my new routes for individual and group tours of Soviet heritage and abandoned places in Georgia 😉 ⠀ 🇷🇺 Здание советской гостиницы на более, чем 100 номеров, построенной в 1970-е годы в горах на территории Грузинской ССР. В центре здания расположена необыкновенная лестница, от которой захватывает дух. Внизу лестницы когда-то располагался фонтан, а сверху - купол, конструкция которого имеет отсылки к гвиргвини: деревянному ступенчатому шатровому перекрытию грузинского народного жилища. Роскошная конфигурация лестницы никак не укладывается в концепцию отказа от излишеств в архитектуре, - огромное пространство использовано безо всякой пользы, лишь "для красоты". ⠀ Но теперь восторгаться этой красотой некому. Заброшены жилые номера со всей мебелью, заброшен кинозал с роялем на сцене, заброшен огромный ресторан для гостей... А вокруг лишь бескрайние горы. Думаю, эта локация отлично впишется в один из новых маршрутов моих индивидуальных и групповых туров по советскому наследию и заброшенным местам Грузии 😉
