When I was a little girl, as early as the age of 7 years old I was told... Don’t dress immodestly, we don’t want to tempt the young men. Don’t show your shoulders. Anything above the knee is shameful. Don’t dress in a way that causes unnecessary attention. There are no exceptions for special occasions. Absolutely no cleavage under any circumstances. It was ALWAYS about making sure we as women wouldn’t cause impure thoughts to infiltrate young mens minds. 🫠And I really don’t care what any “modern” Mormon person says. This religion does not have a buffet style option so stop fucking lying to yourself. today there are so many people who identify as a more “relaxed” mormon, but passively staying mormon only hurts those who are brave enough to actually leave and tell their stories because “so and so” could stay and make it work. It just means they’re silently taking the abuse. it’s not heroic. This is exactly what the church indoctrinated us with and still does today. But what’s funny is.... I wear what I want for ME and frankly for other women. Most women would agree we dress to impress each other, NOT men. We should be able to wear whatever the flying shit we want. I’m teaching my son it’s HIS responsibility to respect women and control himself regardless of what they wear. And that a woman’s body is beautiful. So you know what girl? WEAR the shorts. Wear that bikini, and if you DARE ... flaunt those ever so lust full shoulders ✨ many of you might not know that I grew up in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
