challah bread!β¨ππ€ this recipe is from House of Nash Eats!! its so delicious!! Recipe: - 1 3β4 cups warm water (420 ml) - 1 1β2 tablespoons active dry yeast - 1β2 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon extra for proofing the yeast (100 grams + the tablespoon) - 1β2 cup vegetable oil (110 grams) - 4 large eggs - 1 tablespoon salt - 8 to 81β2 cups all-purpose flour (960-1020 grams) - 1 extra egg for the egg wash Directions: - First, proof the yeast by placing it in a large bowl or a stand mixer bowl along with the warm water and tablespoon of sugar and mix together then let sit for about five minutes! - Next, add in the oil and four eggs and mix until combined, then add in the sugar and salt and mix together! - Add in the flour a cup at a time mixing in between each addition until it is fully incorporated! - Let the mixer knead the dough for about five minutes or you can knead by hand until the dough is smooth! - Clean out and light oil the bowl, then place the dough back into the bowl and cover then let it rise for about an hour! - After it has risen, punch down the dough and then cover again and let rise again for another hour! - Finally once its done rising, divide the dough into two halves then divide each half into size equal pieces and roll each piece into 12-13β long strands! - Place the six strands side by side with the ends touching and pinched together then start braiding it, you can look up a video how to braid challah bread! - Do the same thing with the second half and braid it as well and set both on a lined baking sheet! - Beat the extra egg in a small bowl for the egg wash and brush half of it onto both of the loafs then allow them to rise for another hour in a wamr place! - Finally, brush the other half of the egg wash on both of the loaves again and then bake at a preheated oven of 375Β°F for about 28-34 minutes! - Let the challah cool before cutting into it, but once itβs cooled its ready to cut and serve! enjoyy!! #challah#challahbread#challahrecipe#challahbraiding#homemadechallah#homemadebread#recipe#breadrecipe#fyp#FYP
