this past weekend I finally went home to Ohio to lay my mom to rest next to her brother. I’ve been an anxious mess leading up to the memorial and I really didn’t know if I even wanted to do it or if I could even get through it, but it ended up being exactly what my heart needed. I was moved beyond words by everyone from her life who showed up.. friends and co-workers she hadn’t seen in 15 years... family I’ve never met.... my classmates and teachers from high-school... I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude to everyone who came to pay their respects. I felt a level of support and consolation I didn’t even know was possible to feel. I felt her through each and every person who was there. every person was a piece of the puzzle of her life. The stories and fond memories we shared and to know she was so loved and adored brought me a sense of peace I didn’t think i could ever find. My mom gave all that she could give to this life with a belly laugh, a wide smile and a full body hug. What a legacy. What a woman. thank you mom and thank you all for loving her.
