Every time I see myself on an @aloyoga add my heart skip a beat. I am so proud of myself. Not a lot of you know that I survived the narcissistic compulsive behavior of somebody that used to control my life. He had convinced me that I was nothing without him. He controlled every aspect of my life. When I decided to leave him a part of my soul died with him. And, it needed to die. It is harsh to say, but I needed “to die” to be able to love again. He killed me, figuratively. He crushed my soul. And slowly, from the ashes of a life buried in tears, I became whole again. I became the strongest and most healthy version of myself. I never gave up, I knew I deserved more and for that alone, I am so proud of myself.
