Abby’s Forever Love, Peter @thefuturepassed, didn’t hesitate for even a second when asked if he wanted to play music at the run honoring her life. He started by playing a song Abby had written that was inspired by @morganharpernichols’s gentle uring to “keep looking where the light pours in” and that elucidates the ways Abby did just that in the two years after Gabe died—“keep your humor & keep smiling // keep me with you & keep trying”—a song that now feels like Abby’s gentle guidance for the rest of us in the wake of her death.⁣ ⁣ Peter closed with Invisible String—the song by @taylorswift & @aarondessner that had come out just a few days before he and Abby had met. I can still feel the glow in her voice when she told me it was Their Song 🥰💛✨ As he started playing, Abby’s mom hustled to the front of the crowd, declaring her love for the song, and proceeded to sing every word (you can hear her in the background in the last clip 🤗). Just as we were singing “a single thread of gold tied me to you,” Peter’s guitar string snapped. He playfully tossed it into the crowd and it landed right in Abby’s mom’s lap.
