Replying to @maddy_gutierrez_ How to make your own caramel sauce at home 👩🏼🍳 *INGREDIENTS* 1 C sugar 1/3 C hot water 6 T butter 1/2 C heavy whipping cream 1 tsp vanilla Dash of salt *PROCEDURE* Add 1 C sugar to tall pot and set stove to medium heat. Let sugar completely melt-slowly stir as sugar clumps and melts-do not stir too much and don’t let melted sugar sit too long. Once sugar is completely liquified, turn heat to low. Add 1/3 C hot water using oven mitts on both hands (steam will be HOT and WILL burn) and stir continuously without stopping as you add 6 T butter, one pad at a time. Once butter is melted and the mixture smooth, remove from heat and add 1/2 C heavy whipping cream with a slow drizzle. After, add 1 tsp of vanilla and a dash of salt. Strain into a jar and let cool on counter for a couple hours. Store caramel sauce in fridge-lasts 2 weeks IF you don’t eat it all first 😋 Use in coffee, ice cream, apples, and more-sky is the limit. *Note on when you add water-there will be seizing of the sugar. If you’re stirring continuously, you should avoid a massive clumping, but if it does become one massive clump, do not add butter. Scrap the whole thing and start again so you’ve only wasted 1 C sugar and not the rest of the ingredients. I have successfully doubled this recipe, but the chance of a steam burn increases quite a bit. I wouldn’t recommend tripling at all. Enjoy! 🫶🏻 #baking #caramelsauce #recipe
