More often than not, I spend my birthday far from home, likely in a jungle, on some sort of journey, usually alone. Celebrating this year in this also jungle 🗽, seeking some novelty but also slipping sweetly into the grooves we’ve worn with everyday doings, is a reminder that I’m living the dream I drew up as a little one, and which I sought in so many of those journeys. That is: the life I made, and have embraced. (Because when you’re the aspirational sort, pausing to be amidst what you’ve done can be just as important as all of that doing.)
