My heart is broken 💔 Thomas Bedford Glascock, Jr.—Jud, Juddy, Jud Bones, Grandad to me—passed away peacefully this morning. I got to hold his hand, tell him how much he meant to me, and say goodbye to my hero. Though I’m gutted, I’m also beyond grateful. He was truly a great man—honest, loyal, generous, devoted to his family and friends, and beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He wasn’t the loudest in the room, but his great sense of humor, warm smile and unmistakable twinkle in his eye made everyone feel instantly at ease. He was tough as nails, a true outdoorsman and man’s man, yet gentle in a way that babies and dogs were instinctively drawn to.
The center of his world was without a doubt my grandmother, Page. They were true soulmates, their 70-year love story the kind people write songs about. We lost my grandmother last May, and Grandad was absolutely heartbroken. Quite frankly, I’m surprised he stayed as long as he did. Though this loss is devastating, I take comfort knowing my grandmother was waiting to welcome him home on the other side, they were never meant to be apart. ❤️❤️
Grandad, I love you so much, I’m so proud to be your granddaughter, I miss you terribly already, but I know you are at peace and where you are meant to be. Rest easy Jud Bones 💔🕊️
