This Warrior Wednesday, we are highlighting Chief Master Sgt. (ret) Howard Smith. CMSgt. Howard served as a Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE) Specialist conducting initial and refresher SERE training to at risk personnel, Test Parachutist and as part of a Guardian Angel teams. He encountered a high number of head and spinal injuries that required multiple surgeries, physical therapy, pain management, and ongoing care. After over 3 years of the medical process he was permanently medically retired for a Traumatic Brain Injury, chronic pain and PTSD, in December 2021.
