FRAGMENT OF TIME. 
My photographic book investigating a fragment of the cultural positioning and visual view of Japan. This is done through 6 amazing photographers (@tokyo67 , @minami.camera , @yosukeshimizu_photo , @keitatata , @mizushimatakahiro , @okadakisara) as part of my final bachelor project at @kglakademi. The objective of my investigating have been to develop a tactile experience that associate an immediate understanding of the topic. While the opening experiencing have creates a fascination for the materials. The book and the cover isolate the photography within each other, this is done as contrast to the inside knowledge and the outside knowledge. 

Working with the photographers I realized the nuances of the day and night was immensely important to show to maximize the information the photographers investigate. That’s why conceptual the book is following the photography from the early day till the late night to visualize the idea of a full nuanced day, by using the technique of folded paper with the Japanese binding. As you read through the pages you will notice a gradient in the inside of the papers that goes from the brightest blue to the deepest black, that guides the narrative of the book, the effect will give you a subtle connection to the progress of the book. These two books are handmade by my self. Hopefully in late 2022 this can be published in a bigger print-run. And will probably look a little different, maybe with a slightly different narrative. We’ll see about that in the future!
