Puppy chow, but make it 500% better with two tricks:
1) double (maybe more?) the chocolate peanut butter butter coating
2) store in the freezer!
The thick, salty sweet clusters are otherworldly. Amazing. So truly life-changing. You won’t ever go back.
Paper bag is a necessary part of puppy chow. This will not be weird to you if you were raised in the Midwest in the 80’s and 90’s.
Also, I know I’ll hear from people on this that powdered sugar would logically go in the bag first. But I feel like I have best results (aka more clustering) when I add it after - it seems to give more of that wet/dry hybrid that sticks together better. Could just be coincidence but when it comes to clusters I’m just not willing to take that chance, ya know?
DMs have been telling me Crispix is better - and I have to say, I’m partial to rice Chex because I like the angular shape when it all clustered together. BUT then someone said that the reason Crispix is so good is that the Crispix holes are bigger so you get the chocolate peanut butter mixture on the inside as well as outside?! And *that* would convince me. I haven’t tried it yet - looks like I better get on that asap!
For the recipe (which you’ll be making tonight obviously) google “pinch of yum puppy chow” and you’ll find the exact ratios I used! please don’t just make the recipe on the back of the box. 😭 it is not the same! we need HEFTY amounts of chocolate, butter, and peanut butter here! 💪🏼
