So if you know me, you know I don’t get crazy excited about a lot of things, or at least I don’t always SHOW it 😬... but this moment was prettyyyy cool to me and worth sharing. . Quick story: I met @adamblackstone when he was hired as my MD (many moons ago) and then he became family... fast forward 10yrs 😳, he calls me and says I want you to do The Oscars with me. (WHAT?! 💃🏽, but u know me... I play it cool 😎😂). He tells me I’ll be singing with Theeee Reba McIntyre and he wants me to fill in for Billie Eilish in rehearsals. . So boom... we get through the Reba rehearsals seamlessly, I’m directed back to my dressing room to wait for somebody to call me back to stage for the Billie song... 15min later Adam is calling my phone like, “Yo, where are u? You’re about to sing like NOW... RUN!” (Nobody came to get me y’all 😩😂) I’m racing to the stage and all I can think is Adam is never gonna hire me again and all because a stage manager forgot I was filling in 🤦🏽‍♀️😂. . I get up to stage, they pass me a mic, hand me a pack and tell me to sit on the stool... Adam and the orchestra directed by the incredible @pinartoprakcomposer start playing... and then I’m in! Can I just say this moment was GOOOOOD and these pictures are just God’s reminder to me that this is where I belong. . Adam, thank you for trusting me and giving me such a dope opportunity 🙏🏽. . I’ll be back on that stage soon, singing one of my nominated songs 😎... and if you’re reading this, u can hold me to that 😉.
